Punjab State Teachers Eligibility Test( PSTET ) is conducted by Government of Punjab and with the Department ( CDAC Mohali or Education Board). This exam is good opportunity for those candidates who wish to make their career as a Government Teacher in the Education Department of Punjab. On the basis of this exam , candidates appoint as Primary Teacher for classes I-V and VI-VIII in Schools run by Government and
Private managements. All the Interested and B.Ed. Qualified candidates and Full fills the Eligibility must go through this PSTET Exam.
ELIGIBILITY: (FOR CLASS 1 TO 5 – PRIMARY STAGE)
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
OR Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
Classes VI to VIII (for Elementary stage):
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed.(Special Education)*.
PATTERN/SYLLABUS:
Test consists of two parts i.e. paper I and paper II. Paper I is compulsory for those who like to teach I to V and Paper II is for those candidates who want to like to teach VI to VIII. Time duration for both papers is one and half hours. It consists of 150 multiple type questions, each question carry one mark each. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. Paper I is divided into 5 parts:
Child pedagogy, mathematics, environmental studies, language I and language II.
These parts includes 30 multiple type questions and all questions are compulsory. Paper II is separated into 4 parts like hild pedagogy, language I , language II , mathematics and science/Social Science / Mathematics and Science OR Social Science .Child pedagogy , language I and language II are compulsory and carries 30 questions each ,while the sub-parts of the fourth part carries 60 Questions each.
